  2. From Feb. 2014 to Aug. 2015, I volunteered in IEEE Western Saudi Section. I also was a member of the executives committee. On of the main achievements made is our initiative to organize the global IEEE Extreme Programming competition. Our initiative inspired King Abdulaziz University (KAU) to host the first ever annual national programming competition for university students in Saudi Arabia. Some of the achievements in Student Activities this period:

    • Between Sep. 17th, 2014 and May 5th, 2015 the student membership increased by 70% (from 162 members to 230 members)
    • The section won a recognition for the outstanding Membership Development achievement for the 2015 membership year.
    • For the 1st time, we had 2 female student ambassadors for the IEEE MadC 2015 competition, we had many participants, and 2 female student ambassadors for the IEEE Day 2015
    • For the 1st time, we had 3 female studnets from KAU won full and partial sponsorship awards to attend the Middle East Student Branch Congress 2015
    • We formed 2 new student chapters, we revived 2 new student branches.
    • We started KAU Women In Engineering (WIE) student affinity group.
    • Our activities featured in IEEE newsletter which is delivered to more than 70,000 engineer in Europe, Middle East, and Africa

  3. KAU IEEE Student Branch Counselor
  4. From Sep. 2014 to Aug. 2015 I served as a KAU IEEE SB Counselor. We had a successful year full of activities.

    • The students made the following two videos which summarise it all:
    • With help of student volunteers, we have founded and organized the 1st Sharing Experience Day 2014.

  6. I was invited to serve as a reviewer in the following 2 international conferences:

    • IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON 2015), Tallin, Estonia
    • Effat Learning & Technology Conference 2014, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

  8. I was invited to speak in:

    • A lecture entitled: “A thesis journey” for a graduate-level students taking “CS 691 Research Seminar” at FCIT-KAU, invited by Dr. Nadine Akkari in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
    • A lecture entitled: "Can You Break It?" in light of my paper: "Design and Evaluation of Competition-based Hacking Exercises" invited by Wejdan Mousa, Chair of KAU IEEE Student Branch in 2015.
    • A lecture entitled: "IEEE, an Overview" in the College of Engineering-KAU invited by Dr. Abeer Alkhouli, the vice-dean of the College of Engineering and Alhanouf Alshareef in 2014.
